Temporary transitional rate for podiatry
Transitional podiatry rate, with which podiatrists can bill patients with diabetes or a risk factor for diabetic foot syndrome via compulsory health insurance (OKP).
Transitional rate for podiatry
Retroactively to 01.01.22, a temporary tariff has now been drawn up, which podiatrists can use to bill patients with diabetes or a risk factor for diabetic foot syndrome via compulsory health insurance (OKP). This is intended to address and expand the shortage of personnel and access to medical pedicure.
In order for podiatrists to be able to bill under the OKP at all, a tariff structure must be developed. They are still Organization of Podiatry Switzerland (OPS) and health insurance companies are working to work out a final tariff.
The following tariffs have now been put into effect temporarily until 31.12.22:
Tariff positions
- 3 tariff lines for initial podiatry treatment Diagnoses A-C per min. (8001A-8001C)
- 3 tariff lines for treatment diagnosis A-C per min. (8002A-8002C)
- 1 position for preparation and follow-up services (8010E)
- 1 position for the report (8030E)
- 1 position for travel and time compensation per km (8040E)
diagnoses
- A: People with diabetes mellitus and polyneuropathy without peripheral arterial disease (PAD)
- B: People with diabetes mellitus and polyneuropathy, with peripheral arterial disease (PAD)
- C: People with diabetes mellitus, after diabetic ulcer, or after diabetes-related amputation.
Requirements for using the tariff
- Service providers must have completed training on the tariff.
- For billing via OKP, insurers require cantonal approval in accordance with the KVG and a ZSR number from SASIS.
- A doctor's order is required
- All service providers must make an annual financial contribution as part of the collective agreement that you must sign.
All podiatrists who meet the OKP criteria and can bill through the OKP must join the interim solution and later the finalized collective agreement. Service providers are only allowed to settle invoices via OKP after the agreement has been made.
Those who are allowed to bill via OKP are compensated for the services via the tariffs. Benefits that were provided before the transitional tariff and are subject to OKP can now be submitted to insurers.
